COFFEE STORY

"The "People's Farm" coffee originates from the Kivubelt group in Rwanda's Nyamasheke district. Established in 2011 by Furaha Umwizey, Kivubelt focuses on sustainable agriculture and local empowerment. They acquired two local washing stations, including Jarama CWS, to process coffee from smallholder farmers. This region benefits from Lake Kivu's volcanic seepage and Nyungwe Forest's humid climate, resulting in fuller, more layered coffees. Kivubelt's estates, spanning 200 acres, employ over 400 people and serve as a vocational school for local farmers. "People's Farm" coffee symbolizes the collaboration between smallholders and processors, offering quality premiums and training programs to over 500 participating families."
